In December 2021 two Masorti communities merged - Edgware Masorti Synagogue and Elstree & Borehamwood Masorti Community to form South Herts and Edgware Masorti (SHEMA). We now hold services every week in Borehamwood.  We are a friendly, growing community and welcome people of all levels of observance. Our services are egalitarian but follow the traditional format. We use the Masorti Kol Rina Siddur.  We hold weekly Shabbat morning services with mixed seating and equal participation for both men and women. We have monthly activities for children, frequent communal meals, and special services and social events on Jewish holidays. Our services are led by our members and Rabbi Bernstein-Rothberg, and everyone is encouraged to get involved.

Our aim is to grow and to provide more and better services for our members without losing the warmth and friendship that is so important to all of us.
