We hold weekly Hebrew conversation classes which began with us all as beginners and we have made excellent progress. Each week we take a different subject or verb and learn how to use it in spoken Hebrew. The classes are taught by Niki, our community development manager and  are light hearted and enjoyable with a lot of laughter and support from fellow students.

Lessons are on Mondays from 11-12 and an alternative class on Wednesdays from 19:30-20:30 in Borehamwood.

Michelle Says: If Bob Geldof had come to classes with Niki, he'd never have written the song "I don't like Mondays". It's the best way to launch your week - going to meet a warm bunch of people with the common interest of learning some conversational Hebrew.  The teaching is encouraging and patient, we are stretched a little and we laugh a lot.  Even the Carpenters might have changed their lyric to "Rainy days and mondays really cheer me up"

My name is Steven and I am a member of the Monday Group of Adult Learning.  While being able to read Hebrew from our prayer books, attending this class for 18 months has been a wonderful experience in learning a new skill, although sometimes not as quick as I would like. Niki is a superbly patient tutor with a great sense of humour. The other plus is that Monday mornings are an excellent social get together, that sometimes can go off at a tangent, but it all adds to the learning enjoyment.”

Beverley says: There are 3 of us in the Wednesday class and I have to say, it is one of the highlights of my week.  The banter between us all is so cool, we have such a lot of fun – laughter is so good for the soul.  I am also at the bottom of the class due to the others having studied longer and lived in Israel,  but they support me and when I did say I think its time for me to drop away, it firmly came back as no, you are not!!    Niki is a truly wonderful teacher;  I don’t know how she retains her obvious enthusiasm when it seems to have taken so long for some of the basic pennies to drop,  but they are starting to do so and its down to her. I had no idea how hard Ivrit would be to even begin to learn it;  it is utterly back to front and all the rules of logic do not apply.
